Finance in Action
Shkendije Himaj is the CEO and founder of Finance in Action, a financial services consulting company dedicated to advancing diversified finance and sustainable growth, as well as, active consultant for international organisations. Prior to this role, she served as Diversified Finance Lead at DT Global, where she championed strategic initiatives across Kosovo financial sector.
With over 18 years of leadership experience at the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Shkendije has held senior positions spanning financial supervision, macroprudential stability, risk management, and international relations. Her distinguished public service includes serving as Chair of the Management Board of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo and an appointment to the Governing Council of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina.” She currently serves on the Board of the Kosovo United States Alumni Association and is a board member of Girls Football Club “Prishtina,” reflecting her commitment to civic activism.
Earlier in her career, Shkendije worked in Canada’s nonprofit sector as a Program Coordinator, gaining valuable international development experience. She is deeply engaged in projects related to diversified finance, corporate governance, leadership, strategy and policy development and women empowerment. She holds degrees in Economics from the University of Pristina and the University of Western Ontario, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.
