My Story: Stefanie Schubert

Charting the Course: My TechWomen4Boards Finalist Story

By Stefanie Schubert

I have always been fascinated by the question why some people and organizations create extraordinary outcomes while facing the same constraints as everyone else. This curiosity led me to build a career at the intersection of economics, negotiation, leadership, and strategy. As a Professor of Economics, Executive Coach, and Negotiation Advisor, I work with leaders, organizations and students to create value by making better strategic decisions.

What drives me is the belief that success is rarely determined by preferences alone. Instead, it is shaped by constraints, incentives and the ability to influence outcomes despite uncertainty. The most successful leaders are not necessarily those with the most authority, but those who understand how to create alignment, build trust and unlock value.

Throughout my career, I have sought to bridge theory and practice by translating complex ideas into actionable insights that help individuals and organizations perform at their best. Whether working with students, executives, entrepreneurs, or policymakers, my goal remains the same: to help people make smarter decisions that create ripple effects.
