Martine Martens-van de Waart

Head of FEC W&R Operations Europe, Africa & Asia

Martine Martens-van de Waart is Head of FEC W&R Operations for Europe, Africa and Asia, where she is responsible for managing financial crime risk for Wholesale and Rural clients. She leads multidisciplinary teams across Utrecht, London, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Martine began her career at ABN AMRO and joined Rabobank in 2002. Since then, she has held a variety of senior roles within the business clients domain, spanning project management, commercial leadership and risk management. In 2020, she transitioned to the Financial Crime department, drawing on her extensive project management experience to establish and scale a large organisation of over 1,000 FTE. As Head of CDD Private Clients, she played a key role in building and further professionalising the Financial Crime function.

Since April 2025, Martine has further expanded her career into the international domain. In her current role, she is a member of the Global FEC leadership team, contributing to the global strategy and execution of financial crime risk management.

She brings deep experience in leading large, diverse teams in complex and highly regulated environments. Known for her collaborative leadership style, strategic perspective and ability to navigate complexity, Martine consistently delivers strong and sustainable results.

Martine holds a Global MBA from Erasmus University and continues to pursue her international ambitions in her current role.
