At Robert Walters, we are partnering with an independent corporate finance advisory firm with a European footprint that advises mid-market companies and investors on M&A and capital-raising transactions. The firm is looking for an M&A Associate to join its Barcelona team, lead the execution of deal materials and coach junior team members.

Your responsibilities

  • You will lead the preparation of marketing materials for sell-side and capital-raising mandates, including teasers, information memoranda and management presentations, from first draft to final version.
  • You will build and review valuation analyses (DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions) to support pricing discussions and client recommendations.
  • You will carry out company, industry and market research to shape each transaction’s equity story and investment rationale.
  • You will gather, consolidate and challenge financial and operational information from clients, advisors and other stakeholders throughout the deal process.
  • You will keep transaction documentation up to date as processes progress, including buyer/investor lists, data room content and Q&A follow-up.
  • You will support senior bankers in pitch preparation and in origination of new mandates.
  • You will coordinate, review and coach the work of an Analyst, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
  • You will report directly to senior management and take part in client meetings and internal deal discussions.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in M&A advisory, corporate finance or deal advisory, gained at an investment banking boutique, a mid-market advisory firm or a Big Four corporate finance team.
  • Proven experience drafting teasers, information memoranda and pitch materials for live transactions.
  • Solid valuation skills (DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions) and advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Full professional proficiency in English. Spanish is highly valued, and other European languages will be considered a plus.
  • Exposure to cross-border transactions or international work environments.
  • High degree of autonomy and comfort working in a small, close-knit team where everyone has direct visibility.
  • Rigorous, structured and detail-oriented, with strong written communication skills.
