My Story: Susanne Steigler
Charting the Course: My TechWomen4Boards Finalist Story
By Susanne Steigler
My name is Susanne, and I am the Director Product Support at Aleph Alpha. For me, leadership means more than guiding a team—it is about creating an environment where people can grow, shine, and surprise themselves. I love leading people and taking on big challenges, the ones that demand focus, courage, and a willingness to bet on ambitious ideas. What fulfills me most is turning challenges into success stories, while I continuously learn from the brilliant minds I work with and value inspiring exchanges for continuous development. Above all, I strive to create a spark—something that ignites energy, motivation, and confidence in those around me.
My leadership is rooted in integrity, authenticity, humor, and team spirit. Dedication and passion are at the heart of how I work. I believe that with each new challenge, you grow stronger, more resourceful, and more aware of what is possible. Sailing, my great passion outside of work, has taught me some of life’s most important lessons: be strong and focused at all times, but also patient—some things simply need time. We cannot change the wind, but we can set our sails differently. And you must always learn—whether it is about waves, weather, technology, or the deeper connections that shape both nature and work.
Academically and professionally, I have always sought to combine research and practice. I hold a Master of Science degree from the University of Edinburgh, earned on scholarship, where I graduated with distinction for my thesis on artificial intelligence. This foundation enables me to merge academic excellence with the operational side of IT, ensuring that digital tools and methods translate into meaningful results for clients, partners, and employees alike.
Above all, transformational leadership for me means balancing strength with humility: staying positive when challenges arise, adapting with flexibility when change is inevitable, and listening deeply while steering the course forward. My focus has always been on getting things done—while inspiring others to discover just how much more they are capable of.
