Jumana Al Darwish is an award-winning impact entrepreneur and philanthropist with over 20 years of extensive experience shaping the public and private sectors in the MENA region. Her portfolio of investments extends to the arts, education, tech and web3 domains. Al Darwish was a former public servant for a decade; serving the Offices of HM Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan and HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. She is the Founder of social enterprises: The Happy Box, The Happy Studio and Happy Hearts Global aimed at empowering children and families through STEAM edutainment and community engagement, earning her numerous entrepreneurship accolades due to their global outreach and success.

She is also the Founder of HerTech.io, a social innovation hub with the goal of bridging the gender tech gap and increasing women’s economic participation in the MENA region. Al Darwish holds masters degrees from both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. Her research explores the socio-cultural and institutional factors influencing the experiences of women tech founders in the GCC region, and highlights ecosystem-level interventions that can enhance their participation and impact in innovation-driven economic growth. As a dedicated community member, she serves on the UNICEF Gulf Office Women’s Leadership Circle and the UNHCR Gulf Solidarity Circle, contributing to regional efforts that promote equity and social resilience.
